Visit Kasbah Tamadot
Morocco’s cultural and natural diversity is a feast for the senses and a once in a lifetime experience that you will never forget. Situated in the spectacular High Atlas Mountains in Morocco, the award-winning Kasbah Tamadot is a magical 28 bedroom retreat owned by Sir Richard Branson. He originally bought it during one of his famous ballooning expeditions on the condition that Eve would help support the local Berber people living in the more remote surrounding villages. Kasbah Tamadot is perched at the top of a valley with views up to Mount Toubkal and over to some of the traditional Berber villages that dot the region. Visitors can stay at Kasbah Tamadot.
Kasbah Tamadot now employs over 98% local staff, figures suggest that each individual employed at the hotel supports up to 10 other individuals in their extended family. They work closely alongside the Eve Branson Foundation (EBF) to improve living standards in the communities around the property and provide office space for EBF.
Book an excursion
If you are planning a trip to Morocco and would like EBF to arrange a personalised tour of our projects followed by lunch at Kasbah Tamadot, then please get in touch. We would be delighted to welcome you with a glass of Berber mountain mint tea, derived from an ancient secret recipe that is guaranteed to revive. There is also the opportunity to book a traditional Berber lunch at one of the village craft centres, cooked by local women with delicious woodfired bread known as ‘Tanourt’.
Guests are invited to meet the artisans at our craft centres, visit local school projects and browse the Berber Boutique, our community pop-up shop to discover our range of handmade Moroccan gifts and donate to specific initiatives. EBF is proud to celebrate and preserve the traditional techniques used for centuries by the Berbers in the Atlas Mountains. We care about how things are made and want our guests to enjoy shopping our exclusive gift range, knowing their purchase is completely original. We blend Moroccan and contemporary design to create items such as interior decorations, soft furnishings and wooden games.
Many gifts are available to purchase with all funds going back into the craft centres, providing participants with a regular income. A visit to EBF is an authentic Berber experience and makes a great day-trip excursion – only an hour’s drive from Marrakech. We look forward to seeing you!
