Tansghart Craft Centre
The Eve Branson Foundation operates three craft centres in the valley surrounding the small market town of Asni, a gateway to the High Atlas Mountains. Each centre focuses on teaching a different traditional artisan skill including weaving, woodworking, tailoring and embroidery. The centres provide young people from the local community with the training, tools and space to learn and share new skills.
Tansghart was the first of our craft centres, and it was established to train young women who had dropped out of school. The centre provides training in traditional tailoring and embroidery. It offers a programme for up to 20 young women. Here the group are taught seamstress skills and learn how to make clothes for their families. The venue is also a great space for young women to practice and share embroidery skills and sell their products through the EBF Shop, which is located at Kasbah Tamadot.

If you’re a guest at Kasbah Tamadot or just visiting the area you can purchase products made at our craft centres directly from the EBF Shop adjacent to Kasbah Tamadot – a wonderful space selling contemporary artisan items. Next door is the Berber Boutique, a treasure trove of traditional Moroccan carpets and antiquities. You can find out more about purchasing products from the craft centres online.

If you are planning a trip to Morocco and would like us to arrange a personalised tour of our projects and meet the artisans you can book an excursion here.
Meet the artisans
Many people in Morocco’s rural Atlas Mountains drop out of education at a young age. In our craft centres, we provide the opportunity to learn artisanal skills that can lead to a future income for individuals and their families. Meet our artisans.
