Head and shoulder portrait shot of EBF Board member Fatima Gounsa

Fatima Gouansa

Vice President

Based in Asni with her family, Fatima attended primary school in one of the smallest villages in the High Atlas Mountains.  She resided in a boarding house in the next town so that she could attend secondary school and through her determination, Fatima overcame the challenges that many Berber girls encounter in accessing education. Fatima went on to attend university in Marrakech where she studied English literature.

After she graduated, Fatima took a role as receptionist with Kasbah Tamadot and has continued to progress her career at the property. Today, Fatima works with different teams as People Manager and Personal Assistant to the General Manager as well as being in charge of Health & Safety. Her dream doesn’t stop there. Fatima wants to contribute to her community by helping different projects come to fruition that will have a positive impact in the Berber region. Fatima volunteers her time for EBF where she is eager to develop the work of the foundation.

"It was a big adventure to go to university in a big city and follow my path to success. I am ambitious to realise my dream of independence in a patriarchal community. I am really excited to be a part of one the biggest associations in the region to help my community, especially since I am a fan of Eve Branson whom I consider the best example of a successful woman."
